Look Up At The Stars
Five years ago today, the distinguished, influential and inspirational scientist Professor Stephen Hawking CH CBE FRS FRSA passed away aged 76.
Professor Hawking, of Cambridge University, was regarded as one of the world’s most brilliant minds.
He was known throughout the world for his brilliant, transformative and groundbreaking contributions to science, physics, mathematics and the exploration of laws that govern the universe.
Today is also the International Day of Mathematics.
Professor Hawking suffered from motor neurone disease for many years. He was diagnosed with this condition as a student. Professor Hawking became a global champion for those with a disability.
