‘Pupils achieve highly at this stunning school’ – Ofsted, May 2023
Educating approximately 1250 students, The Bishop’s Stortford High School provides a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 and has a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 120 female students. As a result of excellent teaching, our students consistently achieve fantastic academic outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. “Behaviour is exemplary in lessons and around the school.” which means the school has a calm atmosphere and students are ready to learn. “Pupils are polite, well-mannered and kind.” and “are ambassadors for the school, demonstrating excellent behaviours in all that they do.” (Ofsted 2023)
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, dynamic and conscientious colleague. The Cover Supervisor role involves the supervision of classes undertaking work set by absent teachers. This would be across a range of different subjects, and would require a calm, consistent approach to classroom management, to ensure the school’s high standards of behaviour and engagement are maintained. Applicants must be well-organised, have a good level of literacy and numeracy, and a willingness to be proactive.
This is a very exciting time to be joining TBSHS as this summer we will be relocating to a brand-new site less than a mile from our current location. We will have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future. Our vast list of extra-curricular activities and trips means students engage positively with school and represent our values with pride. Staff turnover is low, as they feel well-supported and enjoy working here, with many choosing the school for their own children (see school admissions code).
