In-Year Admissions 2024-25
The Bishop’s Stortford High School is normally heavily over-subscribed in each year group.
We very rarely have any vacancies as the number of students in a year group would need to fall below the agreed admission number before we could offer a place.
As we are responsible for our In-Year applications all enquiries regarding in-year spaces should be made directly to the school.
Continued Interest Lists for each year are maintained at the school. Any places which do become available are filled in accordance with our published admission arrangements.
How to make an In-Year Application
To make an application for an In-Year place you will need to complete the In-Year Application form below and return to the school with proof of your permanent address.
We need two documents showing your permanent address. At least one of them needs to be a council tax bill, utility bill, solicitor’s letter or a signed tenancy agreement.
If you’re moving, we also need proof of your new address. This should be either a tenancy agreement showing the date of the tenancy or a solicitor’s letter confirming completion. We won’t use the new address until we have proof that the child is living there permanently. Please see the In-Year Admission Criteria for further information.
Applications from Overseas
If you do not hold a full British citizen passport or have a UK passport describing you as a British citizen with the right of abode you will need to check your visa status. What happens next?
Once we receive your application we will check your application against our admission arrangements which will determine the criteria your application will be considered under. Parents will be notified of the outcome of the application in writing (via email) within 10 working days of receipt.
