Sixth Form – The Flagship of our School
Our Senior Team
We offer a great range of subjects to choose from and we would encourage you to choose the subjects which you enjoy the most and to play to your strengths, whilst also bearing in mind any career aspirations that you may already have. For example, if you wish to become a doctor you would need to study Chemistry and Biology. If you wish to become an engineer, studying Maths will be essential. However, if you are not sure what career path you wish to follow, select subjects that you enjoy or find interesting as we believe that our happiest students are our best performing and most motivated. Our own students are more than happy to share their reasons for selecting their subject combinations – so feel free to speak to them during our open evenings, guidance meetings and induction days.
When we come to create our timetable, we do our utmost to ensure that as many subject combinations as possible can be accommodated. To further enhance your curriculum, you will choose an Enhancement Option that is designed to prepare you for undergraduate study, leadership or employment. You can find more information about all our courses – and the GCSE grades that they require – in our Options and Subjects booklet.
Our most recent Ofsted report praised our exceptionally high quality guidance and, if you would like any advice on which subjects to choose, then you can contact the school and we would be very happy to talk through your options.
Congratulations to our Senior Team for 2026-2027!

Max – A-Level Chemistry, Maths and History
Mimi – A-Level English Literature, Psychology and Music
I am currently studying English Literature, Psychology, and Music, I am passionate about a wide range of subject areas, so this combination allows me to further my knowledge, while retaining versatility, and an open mind.
It is a huge honour to be appointed as Head Student, I am excited to bring my enthusiasm and passion into the wider school community. TBSHS has offered so much to me; academically I have received huge support, and outside of the classroom, such incredible opportunities. I hope to give back what I can of this positive energy, working with my team to uphold the school’s legacy, keeping the strong ethos alive.
Fin – A-Level Media, Religious Studies and Politics
At school, I take Media, Religious Studies, and Politics, and love to get involved with Interact, the Globe, debating, and the tech crew. With the Committee team, I hope to be able to bring people together by organising fun events for people to create lasting memories, which they can hopefully look back on with a fond smile. From Winter Ball, to Prom, and Leavers merchandise, this year will be full of opportunities to do so, hopefully making it a year to remember.
Paddy – A-Level Geography, English Language, Physical Education (PE)
I chose these three subjects because they were my favourite at GCSE, and I think they help me with my Post-18 aspiration of studying sports journalism. As the new Head of Media, Marketing and Promotions of the 6th Form, I am hoping to build on the work from the previous team by promoting everything brilliant about the school and showing what ‘black and gold’ means.
Leah – A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and French
I am currently studying A-level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and French, which have allowed me to explore both my love for STEM subjects and languages. I hope that these will allow me to study Medicine at University. It is an honour to serve as Deputy Head student at the sixth form, and I hope to work with my team to leave a lasting impact on sixth form life, so that all students thrive in their time here. I look forward to the next year in the role and hope to make the most of the rest of my time here!
Sam – A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry
Selecting my A-Level subjects took a lot of thought and advice, but in the end, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with the subjects I love. After some time and patience, the Physical Sciences appealed to me most as a career path, and everything else worked out accordingly.
I am honoured to have been appointed as Head of Lower School Engagement, a part of my school life that I treasured, all thanks to those who have come before me and set the standard in planning and organisation. I have no doubt that my team and I can uphold that legacy, ensuring we give the next cohort the same experience, and to bridge the gap between lower school and Sixth Form life.
Phoebe– A-Level Psychology, and Double BTEC Sport
Amy – A-Level Maths, Economics, Further Maths
I am currently studying subjects that interest me the most. I have always found maths intriguing, and economics has further developed my understanding of the world around me, which has encouraged me to think more about how I can play my part in it.
I enjoy being involved and taking part in school where I can, and I am proud to be a member of the Senior Team, particularly in my role as Head of Charitable Events. I hope to bring people together and support causes that matter to our school community. I look forward to organising inclusive events that have a meaningful impact within and outside of TBSHS.
