A-Level Success 2026

There was much to cheer about this year, when students at The Bishop’s Stortford High School collected their A-Level and BTEC results. 

There were many delighted students celebrating excellent results, with the vast majority successfully gaining places on their first-choice university courses or apprenticeship schemes. 

Dale Reeve, Headteacher at TBSHS, said “I am thrilled with this set of very impressive results and really pleased for the students. As a cohort, they showed fantastic character and dedication to their studies from the start of Year 12 and managed to maintain the necessary focus throughout the two years, with lots of them clearly managing to peak at just the right time. It’s always pleasing to see students gaining places on prestigious Oxbridge or medicine courses, which we’ve achieved yet again this year, though there are many more whose excellent individual performances have really helped them secure promising futures, whether that be at university, an apprenticeship or directly into employment. As a year group, they really bought into the school’s values and embraced the Black & Gold spirit from the start. These academic achievements are obviously crucial for their next steps, but the character they have developed over the last two years will serve them well for the rest of their lives. I am hugely grateful to our dedicated staff, especially the sixth form management team, who all worked hard to teach and nurture them so effectively during their time at the school.”

In addition, following gap a year, Raphael Tsang will be reading French and History at Kings College, University of Cambridge. 

George Munro, Head of Sixth Form, added: “It really has been a fantastic day with so many of our students achieving superb results, and it’s great to see so many female students among our very highest achievers. Although we had some incredibly talented individuals, we also saw an excellent work ethic from so many of them, so it is reassuring that those students have seen all their hard work pay off. I feel incredibly proud of them and am so pleased that this wonderful group of students have got rich rewards for such a mature and committed approach to their studies. They were also heavily committed to the extra-curricular side of sixth form life and fulfilled many leadership roles, whilst ensuring their studies remained a priority throughout. I congratulate them all and wish them every success in whatever the future has in store for them.”
