You may already have a clear career path that you wish to pursue, an entrepreneurial idea around which to build a business of your own or just know that you are not suited to further academic study and want to start earning through some form of employment.
If so, job opportunities post-18 are becoming increasingly diverse. Many companies offer School Leaver Programmes of entry based on A level qualifications in addition to their Graduate Programmes. Each year more Higher Apprenticeships in technical and general business areas are being created where paid employment is combined with study towards recognised professional qualifications. A further trend is degree-level “Learn and Earn” jobs where employment with a company is interspersed with sponsored specialised periods of study at university leading to an Honours degree.
