TBSHS Green Team at Bishop’s Stortford Eco Fair
“What would a perfect eco-school look like?”.
The Green Team at the BS Eco Fair
To coincide with Earth Day, 14 students from the TBSHS Green Team (ranging from Y7 to Y12) represented the school at the first ever Bishop’s Stortford Eco Fair in the Square, held in the town centre on the afternoon of 22nd March 2026. The event was organised to help celebrate and promote a wide range of organisations involved in environmental action and community involvement.
Schools were invited to attend and to share their ideas on the following question: “What would a perfect eco-school look like?”.
Linking to the school motto, “Respice, Aspice, Prospice”, it was a chance for the Green Team to reflect on the environmental progress made by the school over the last few years, to promote some current projects and to think about future priorities including enhancing the biodiversity of the school site, continuing to raise awareness on important green issues and ensuring that the school operates in as sustainable a way as possible.
The event provided the opportunity to meet with a number of other local bodies (including representatives from the town council, the Bishop’s Stortford Climate Group, Bishop’s Stortford Beekeepers and Cycle Stortford. Students could also take part in hands-on activities and enjoy interactive demonstrations such as seed planting and energy-generating bikes.
It was a great opportunity for students to learn about other projects in the town and to share ideas on all things “green”!
