Thought For The Day – Tuesday 12th May 2026
Inspirations
In our lives, we never forget, and are always guided and inspired by, those who have passed away from this life to Heaven above.
These inspirations are always our thoughts for each, and every, day.
Today, we remember our former student, Albie Leak, who passed away on this date, the 12th of May, in 2020.
Albie was a good-humoured, kind, passionate, popular, positive, and respected person.
This was particularly seen in Sport, especially at House sporting events, where Albie always demonstrated aspiration, commitment, respect, integrity, and community. Albie was the heart and soul of the teams he played for and represented.
Very fittingly, each year, in Albie’s memory, an award, named after Albie, is given to a Year 11 student who has demonstrated sporting excellence at The Bishop’s Stortford High School.
As part of his very appropriate tribute at the time, Headteacher Mr. Reeve crystalised a fine student: “Albie was a cracking young man, always well-behaved, honest and friendly.”
Today, and every day, we remember Albie, Albie’s wonderful family, and Albie’s friends.
Albie’s brother, Freddie, also attended T.B.S.H.S., and was also an inspirational and outstanding student, like Albie.
Freddie achieved brilliant G.C.S.E. and Advanced Level examination results, contributed excellently to rugby at T.B.S.H.S., and, even more importantly, was a wonderful person and an inspirational citizen.
In November 2024, it was great pleasure to talk with Freddie, and two fabulous and fantastic friends of Albie and Freddie, Dan and Zak, by chance, in Bishop’s Stortford. These three now former students of T.B.S.H.S. were humble, polite, respectful, and thoughtful. They were, and are, an absolute credit to themselves, to their families, and to Albie. They talked lovingly, respectfully, and thoughtfully, of T.B.S.H.S., their new careers and their favourite football team.
Albie, Freddie, their family, and their friends were, and are, the very, very best of The Bishop’s Stortford High School.
