Yesterday, in the United Kingdom, was “Emergency Services Day” or “999 Day”. Thank you to Mrs, Haines for raising awareness of this very important day.
This day remembered, and remembers, The Emergency Services in the United Kingdom: The Ambulance Service; The Fire Service; The Police Service, the National Health Service.
These inspirational, and wonderful, people, these first responders, professionally and selflessly run towards danger to keep others safe.
As they do this, as they react, as they (first) respond and heed the call, to make good, thoughtful, and wise decisions, every second, every minute, and every hour counts.
We also remember the trauma that can be suffered by them, and their families, in dealing with challenging situations beyond words.
The Emergency Services are the very best of humanity.
The consistent, resilient, and universal care, compassion, and courage they show is truly essential, inspirational, and irreplaceable.
We greatly respect The Emergency Services, as we do all people locally, nationally, and globally.
Tomorrow, in the United States of America, and around the world, The Emergency Services, along with the victims of the terrorist attacks of the 11th of September 2001, which happened twenty-five years ago, will be remembered and respected.
On the 11th of September 2001, four aeroplanes were hijacked and weaponised by terrorists.
The following times are times in the United States of America.
Two aeroplanes flew into “The Twin Towers” of the World Trade Centre, in New York City. at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m..
At 9:37 a.m., a third aeroplane destroyed the western face of the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States military, outside Washington D.C..
At 10.03 a.m., a fourth aeroplane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania, after passengers on the aeroplane fought back. So many lives were saved by these passengers, who lost their lives, as the aeroplane was on course for Washington D.C..
At 9.59 a.m. and 10.38 a.m. The South Tower and The North Tower of The World Trade Centre collapsed.
2,977 people died in, and were victims of, the attacks, as four aeroplanes were hijacked and weaponised by terrorists.
67 citizens of the United Kingdom died in the attacks.
Behind every number was, and is, a story.
Behind every number was, and is, a name.
Behind every number was, and is, a beautiful, loved, precious, sacred, unique, and valued life.
Behind every number was, and is, a memory.
Behind every number was, and is, a family.
Many more suffered illness and trauma in the years after the 11th of September 2001.
On the 21st of August 2026, the United Kingdom held the first ever National Day for the Victims and Survivors of Terrorism.
This very important day ensured all victims and survivors are remembered and respected.
That no one is or should be ever forgotten.
This day, and date, in the United Kingdom replicated the day, and date, of the United Nations International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism.
Terrorism is evil, illegal, immoral, and wrong.
All humanity, all people, and all religions are against terrorism.
In our lives, we act, and pray, for compassion, kindness, love, peace, and respect.
