With a photograph of his mother and father behind him, and wearing a black tie, His Majesty King Charles III was recently pictured carrying out his duties, pen in hand and focused, as head of state.

“The Red Box” contains papers from government ministers in the United Kingdom and the Realms and from representatives from the Commonwealth and beyond.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II received Red Boxes, which were made upon her Coronation in 1953, almost every day of her reign, including weekends and holidays, but excluding Christmas Day.
