Thought For The Day: Tuesday 27th September 2022
The “One Love Campaign” began in the Netherlands last year.
“The One Love Campaign” uses the power of football to promote equality, inclusion and diversity.
It stands against prejudice and discrimination of any kind.
This important message is symbolised by “One Love” armbands that are worn by captains of international teams who have supported the message.
“As captains we may all be competing against each other on the pitch, but we stand together against all forms of discrimination. This is even more relevant at a time when division is common in society”, said England Men’s Football Captain Harry Kane.
The armband, and the symbol depicted, contain colours representative of all backgrounds.
In this Languages Week, we celebrate “The Black and Gold Spirit” as diverse, multicultural and multilingual.
Unity and diversity.
We respect, and include, all.
