Year 8 Careers Day

Year 8 Careers Insight Day – Thursday 13^th June

On Thursday 13^th June, Year 8 have a special Careers Insight Day.

Students will be off timetable for the day and in their form groups will spend the morning circulating between six career sectors.

We’re looking forward to welcoming representatives from BAM Construction, Linklaters LLP (law), Mansell & Co (accountancy & tax), St James’s Place (wealth investment/pensions), McLarens Insurance, Inflite (mechanical & aviation engineering), RCA Structures (civil engineering), GSK (science, pharmaceutical) and lastly the NHS. Students will be able to find out about dozens of jobs available in these sectors which we’re sure will focus their young minds on careers, pathways & subjects.

Period 5 after lunch will be spent doing reflection, a quiz plus an evaluation.

Before 13^th June, I would recommend that parents/carers have an informal conversation with your child regarding any career aspirations they may have – they may surprise and delight you!
