Thought For The Day – Wednesday 26th June 2024
Adaptability, Flexibility and Versatility
Please stay safe today, as always, in and out of school. Stay hydrated. Look after yourself and others. We think about the vulnerable, especially in these very warm conditions. Fill up your water bottles during break and lunch, not at the very end of break and lunch.
In any organization, team, community, group or partnership, a key attitude is to be able to adapt and be flexible and versatile, both in terms of attitude, character and skills.
This is vital to resilience, having a growth mindset and showing kindness, accepting situations, the environment and other people for what, and who, they are.
People who adapt to, perform and cover a range of roles in life are absolutely essential.
Every team, and organization, for example, needs such people to be able to cover a range of areas.
The literal definition of “cover” in this context is to protect and to support.
We appropriately, compassionately, legally and professionally “cover” one another in life.
After thirteen years’ service, Mrs. Kearney leaves TBSHS today.
Mrs. Kearney has played a key, and very respected role, in her work for TBSHS as cover supervisor.
Over the course of an academic season, lessons need cover because, on occasion, staff may have individual school, academic, extra-curricular, educational visit, personal, life or health requirements and situations.
Working with Mrs. Butler, Mrs. Kearney has been a key cover supervisor for many years, ensuring student learning continues on a daily basis.
And, though the nature of Mrs. Kearney’s particular job is very much about adaptability, flexibility and versatility, from one class, one subject, one room, one day and one week to another, Mrs. Kearney’s professional care, consistency, reliability, support and standards has been a constant. Mrs. Kearney has greatly demonstrated commitment, aspiration, respect, integrity and community in engaging with all subjects, always helping the team as a whole.
13 years is a very significant proportion of life. In this timescale the school as gone from strength to strength under Mr. Reeve’s leadership.
We greatly thank Mrs. Kearney for her wonderful “Black and Gold” character and service, and wish Mrs. Kearney every happiness for the future.
