Thought For The Day – Wednesday 13th March 2024
Charity
On Saturday, a group of students will be packing bags to assist Bishop’s Stortford Rotary Club raise money for those in need in our local area. Thank you to the Rotary Club for all they do.
There is an important meeting with regards to bag packing today at 1:25 p.m. Please make sure you attend if you wish to help.
We are also currently collecting Easter eggs for our local food bank to distribute to those in need in the holidays.
Charity means generosity and helpfulness, especially towards those in need and those suffering.
Charity does not have to always involve financial donations.
Often time, and attention, awareness, empathy and kindness, is more precious and valuable.
Charity is done to humbly help others, not to promote ourselves. Recognition is a deserved and lovely by-product, but not a reason for good. The joy in the heart of the giver, and the happiness in the heart of the receiver, is reward enough.
Many acts of charity will be quiet and unseen, with only the givers and receivers truly knowing.
Charity is local, national, international and global.
Thank you to all students, staff, carers, guardians and parents who spread the sunshine of charity in our community and beyond.
