Thought For The Day – Thursday 28th November 2024
Attitude of Gratitude
Today, and this weekend in the United States of America and Canada, is Thanksgiving.
People celebrate, and reflect on, who, and what, they are grateful for.
This originated in celebrating the harvest and giving thanks for the blessings of the last year. It also marks the last family gathering before Christmas.
At TBSHS, we can take this inspiration and opportunity to reflect, with an attitude of gratitude, on who and what we are appreciative of and thankful for.
That starts with family, carers, friends, community and our new school.
We pay this gratitude forward. To others in our community, and beyond. Gratitude is seen in what we do.
Such an attitude of gratitude starts with ourselves, being humbly accepting, but never self-righteous, or taking anything for granted, of who we are as special, unique and valued individuals who do our best and strive to be a better person each and every day.
This is all especially important when we go through challenging times.
For, it is in our most vulnerable moments, we care, learn and love the most.
Happiness comes in eternal memories, not in transient possessions.
To love and to be loved. That is all.
