Thought For The Day – Thursday 25th April 2024
Past, Present, Future
As study leave and further examinations near for Year 11 and Year 13 (some examinations have already started), it can be a very moving time as you, and we, reflect on the many positive and profound memories and moments.
For sure, we keep our focus on examinations so that we have a positive Results Day in August and a good holiday beforehand where we know we have given our best. It is only ever too late once the invigilator has collected your carefully checked examination script.
But our last few weeks and days in school is a great opportunity to cherish those memories, finish well and say thank you.
Over the years, and now, there have been outstanding experiences: in the classroom; around school; on the sports pitch; at music concerts and performances; in debating and many other oracy and public speaking opportunities; with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme; and further community and enrichment events.
You have created superb memories and moments for many years. Thank you.
Often the deepest and most valuable life lessons come in the most challenging and toughest times. There are always twists and turns. At the end of the day, it is the type of people we are, and try to be, that matters most.
We must never forget our past, our roots, our journey, those that have cared for us, and loved us, and always will. We give care, and love, to others equally.
We never forget our Primary Education which is called Primary for a reason. It comes first.
The timeless and wise motto of the school encourages us to “Look to, and respect, the past, present and future”.
On 16th April 2024, George Hoddle, an outstanding and wonderful former student of TBSHS, made his debut for the senior team of Cambridge United. George was part of a team of great sportspeople at TBSHS.
Keep chasing your dreams, looking after, and respecting, others along the way.
