Thought For The Day – Sunday 23rd March 2025
Magical, Magnificent, Marvellous, Memorable and Moving Moments
After the historic and outstanding success of the Year 10 rugby team three weeks ago, another national event, involving TBSHS students, and staff, takes place today. Another prestigious event, involving TBSHS students, took place yesterday.
Today, 15 musicians, accompanied by Mr. Emery, Mr. Mead, Ms. Tudo and Mr. Ryder, will perform at the wonderful “The Royal Albert Hall” in Kensington, London, as part of the “Hertfordshire Schools’ Gala”, which is now in its 30th year. This year’s theme is: “For The Record”, celebrating music across the generations. What music do you enjoy and why?
This is the latest event in March for the Music department at TBSHS. The department have organized participation in a music festival and three concerts, including this one. As always, Music will also be at the very heart of our Lent and Easter services in the last week of term, as well as integral in our Final Assembly.
We should equally note those students who represented the school at the oldest debating society in the world, “Cambridge Union”, in the “Cambridge Schools’ International Competition” yesterday. This was the latest in yet another excellent Debating opportunity for TBSHS students. Like Music, Debating is crucial to TBSHS and vital to our “past, present and future”.
TBSHS students leading and participating on national, and international, stages once again, spreading “The Black and Gold Spirit”.
Both venues, pictured above, are historic and iconic all around the world, going back to the 19th century.
Magical, magnificent, marvellous, memorable and moving moments.
Thank you to the Music and Debating departments and to all students involved.
Debating and music are key to life.
