Fields of Black and Gold

The top fields are quiet now, apart for the singing of the birds, before the energy and enthusiasm of Sports Day 2023.

Hopefully, in just few hours, there will be wonderful displays of commitment, aspiration, respect, integrity and community, the school values,  from competitors and spectators alike.  “The Black and Gold Spirit” in action.

Do not forget that we encourage, cheer, help and support everyone over the finish line.  Memories will be made.

Thank you to Mr. Harris, the P.E. Department and Ms. Tudo, your programme for the day is as follows (hopefully the weather can keep fine for most of the day):

  • Those competing and participating should come to school in P.E. kit and bring a full water bottle
  • 8:30 – 8:40: Registration in form groups – final checks of the teams and motivation –  #Pumped
  • 8:40 – 9:40: Year 8 field events
  • 9:30 – 10:15: Year 10 field events
  • 10.15 – 11.00: Year 7 field events
  • 11.00 – 11.45: Year 9 field events
  • 11:50 – 12:35: Lunch – thank you to Mr. Cooper and his team
  • 12:35: Registration – competitors report to the field after form registration
  • Students and staff sit in designated house areas – no litter – only officials and competitors are allowed inside the track
  • 12:50:  Officials are ready to go
  • 1:00: 100 metres
  • 1:15: 800 metres
  • 1:35: 200 metres
  • 1:55: 1500 metres
  • 2:30: 300/400 metres
  • 2:45: Relays
  • 3:05: Presentations with Mr. Reeve
  • 3:20: Departure
