The Finish Line (For Year 11 and Year 13), Stay safe in the warm weather.
Public examinations are now complete for another academic year. The first picture above was taken last evening, at the close of all examinations.
Well done to Year 11 and Year 13 students at The Bishop’s Stortford High School for their resilience, respect, and responsibility.
We know that, like life itself, these things are never a straight line.
For anyone.
We especially think about any who have had health or personal challenges in this important period.
May all Year 11 and Year 13 students have a happy, health, and safe summer.
With the plethora of examinations Year 11 and Year 13 students sit, they absolutely, and thoroughly. deserve their appropriate rest and relaxation now.
Public examinations require meticulous organisation.
At The Bishop’s Stortford High School, we greatly thank: Mrs. Chan; Mrs. Pretious-White; the Senior Leadership Team, especially Mr. Gunn; Mr. O’Sullivan; and all the invigilators; for their integrity, organisation, and professionalism.
We should never forget that the examinations process in very many ways is all year round, commencing with Results Days in August.
And, with “Thank A Teacher Day” on Wednesday earlier this week, we do not forget all staff, in every area of The Bishop’s Stortford High School, who nurtured, prepared, and supported, students.
We pay great tribute to carers, guardians, and parents. By definition, they play the vital role. Examinations are not easy for them either.
Ultimately everyone does their very best, looking after others, and themselves.
The work that is done in Years 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 prepare students for the future. Whilst Year 11 and Year 13 have crossed their finish line, and fully deserve their break, there is still some distance left in this term’s academic run. Finish strong. Set up next season now.
Summer will soon transition to winter. Lining up outside the examination venue in warmth soon transitions to cold, and vice versa.
And it will then be the turn of the next generation to step up and shine.
Next academic year’s Year 11 Mock examinations will commence on the 7th of December 2026.
Next academic year’s Year 13 Mock examinations will commence on the 25th of January 2027.
