Thought For The Day – Friday 11th October 2024
A New Dawn
Above: The sun rises on The Bishop’s Stortford High School this morning.
Thank you to all staff and students for such outstanding contributions and commitment last evening.
It was a wonderful atmosphere on an historic night for the school.
A night that once seemed impossible became stunning reality.
The values of the school, commitment, aspiration, respect, integrity and community, were encapsulated and epitomised.
Everyone who helped, and showcased, the school played an absolutely vital part in the school’s present and future.
Our present and future is only possible because of all those inspirational people who have gone before us in the school.
Inspirational people like our former student Max Oliver, and Max’s family, who we continue to remember and be inspired by.
The “Black and Gold Spirit”, such good will and kindness, is never taken for granted and very, very much appreciated.
It is the essence of TBSHS.
We are a team.
We help each other.
We think of others.
We look after ourselves.
Thank you to carers, guardians and parents, the unsung heroes of education and life.
Of course, every great team needs great leadership. We thank Mr. Reeve, Miss. Butler, the Senior Management Team and the Governors for everything last evening, before and beyond.
Those students who were not involved yesterday evening can play their part today by continuing to engage, and be thoughtful in, class, and by continuing to keep our brilliant new school clean and tidy.
As everyone will.
For every day is a positive opportunity.
Keep representing.
Continued thanks to the Physical Education Department for all the fabulous opportunities they provide in so many different locations all around the country and indeed all around the world.
As we experience a new dawn, we are always mindful of all, especially those for whom the new dawn brings very difficult challenges. The sunshine of love, and those we love, is eternal, perfect and timeless.
Have a good, and safe, weekend, when it arrives.
