Thought For The Day – Friday 10th February 2023
Love Our Neighbour
Thank you for all your wonderful contributions this half term. As always, thank you to the staff and your parents.
Best wishes to all students who are visiting other countries this half term. Thank you staff for providing such fabulous enrichment opportunities.
Best wishes to Year 11 and Year 13 . This will be your final holiday as such before revision becomes the main focus at Easter. Recharge your batteries now for the final run in. You will need to be ready to perform, with all, and other, great students nationally and internationally in the summer, show subject knowledge and skills and do your very best.
Stay safe and respectful this half term, including online. Look after others. Look after your family. Look after yourself.
The word charity can be derived from the Latin caritas which means the highest form of love, the love of others, the love of neighbour, putting other people first. Today we show a love of our neighbour by raising money for the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. Please keep the standards as high as ever, remember today is about those suffering, support the non-uniform of other students (no bullying), hand your £2 in at form time, take your coat off inside and remember your subject equipment and locker key. Please leave the environment clean and tidy. Remember the cleaners will finish tonight long after we have gone home. Let your tutor know if £2 is a challenge at this particular time. Show respect, care, love and “The Black and Gold Spirit” today and always.
