Wonderful Will
This night and this day, and every night and every day, we remember, and have been remembering, our wonderful former student, Will Scutts.
Will passed away on 24th March 2023.
Will was an outstanding student who epitomized the values, and ethos, of The Bishop’s Stortford High School.
This was superbly demonstrated in Will’s outstanding and unique contribution to: lessons; extra-curricular activities, particularly sport, music, drama and, very appropriately, Will’s leadership role as House President for (Mr. Ian) Shaw House; and in the kind of person Will was.
Will was such a superb speaker at TBSHS’ end of term “Final Assembly” in December of 2022. Will was the star of “House Drama” in 2022.
Will was, is and always will be “The Black and Gold Spirit”.
Year 11 tributes to Will in 2023 were extraordinary.
Year 13 tributes today, in 2025, were also absolutely brilliant.
Both totally reflected wonderful Will.
A bench, in commemoration of Will, is to be found, very appropriately, by the new School Hall, at the centre, foundation, heart and root of The Bishop’s Stortford High School.
Today, and tonight, Will’s bench is adorned with flowers in beautiful, colourful, inspiring and vivid tribute.
The bench moved schools with us. Just as Will’s ethos and legacy has.
Memories and the memorable transcend time and space.
Will’s brilliant and outstanding light will always guide, and inspire, us every day at The Bishop’s Stortford High School, whether that: was previously at London Road; is now at Beaumont Avenue; or in our lives beyond this place.
As this day closes, and evening falls, we keep Will, his family and his friends in our very deepest thoughts and prayers, always.
Those we love, and those who inspire us, are eternally in our hearts and in Heaven.
Wherever we go, Will is always be with us. And we are always with Will.
