Fiona Price, TBSHS Post-18 and Oxbridge Co-ordinator, commented, “We are delighted that our students continue to be highly successful in gaining Oxbridge offers across both Science and Humanities subjects. These students have worked exceptionally hard through all the unique difficulties of the Covid pandemic which affected their GCSE years and saw them unable to sit actual exams. Talented individuals, they have made full use of all the support offered by our staff and of the numerous enrichment opportunities, virtual and in-person, to develop their academic ability, such as involvement with societies, external speakers, summer schools, and wider reading. We hope that their continued hard work will result in their places are confirmed in the summer.”
Year 13 Post-18 Summary
Our Year 13 cohort have received a fantastic range of university offers despite the increased competition for places this year. There has a been a 76% positive response rate to the all the different course choices submitted and almost 60 students have received offers from all their choices. In addition to our 4 Oxbridge and 6 Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary offers, over 33% of all offers are from Russell Group universities including the likes of Imperial, LSE, Durham and Warwick.
A variety of students are progressing well on apprenticeship applications in a range of industry sectors and we look forward to celebrating their success.
