TBSHS Cricketers Donate Items of Cricket Equipment
TBSHS Sri Lankan Cricket Tour pass on Cricket Equipment as part of Tour planning
TBSHS Cricket Tour donations
A great community spirit was shown ahead of senior cricket tour to Sri Lanka this summer as the PE department took donations for kit collection in association with ‘Charity Pranav’. Students from all years of the school brought in donations.
Cricket and Rugby are hugely popular sports in Sri Lanka but due to the current economic situation, purchasing kit for these sports has become increasingly difficult and is acting as a barrier towards participation. In an effort to help these sports flourish in the country, and the schools in which TBSHS will be touring later this year, TBSHS Cricketers, parents and families have collected over four-hundred and eighty items of equipment. From forty pairs of boots to bags of cricket pads to rugby tackle bags.
The school in partnership with the Charity Pranav will ship over the equipment donations in a container, which will be distributed to local Schools and clubs by TBSHS boys when they arrive in the country in July.
A massive thank you must be said to all students and parents who kindly donated equipment. It is greatly appreciated. A special thank you must also go to Gunn & Moore Cricket who have kindly donated over fifty items of brand-new cricket kit ranging from coloured pads to spikes and bats.
