National Geography Award for Luke
One of last year’s Geography A-Level students at TBSHS, has had a delightful surprise this week, having been notified that he has won an award from The Royal Geographical Society’s 2022 Awards for Excellence in Geography, for being one of two candidates, scoring the highest marks in the whole of the UK, in his Pearson’s Edexcel Geography A-Level exam.
Luke Hale, who is currently at Bristol University studying Politics and International Relations, received a letter this week unexpectedly, telling him he and another candidate had jointly got the highest marks in England of all the 13,224 candidates taking last summer’s A-Level exams.
Luke now receives a prize of an Amazon voucher and a certificate from the Royal Geographical Society.
The awards aim to recognise and reward excellence in geographical examinations. It is always appreciated by students, parents and schools when the highest examination achievements are rewarded, and to have that achievement recognised by the Society elevates it further still. These awards promote an interest in and enjoyment of geography by recognising the highest achievers in A Level, IB and GCSE examinations.
Luke said “I am very surprised and happy to have received this award.”
