We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and conscientious colleague to join our friendly Learning Support Department and be part of our highly effective SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) team.
LSA’s make a real difference to the students in our care. This position involves supporting learning for students with a variety of individual needs including one-to-one, small group and whole-class support. Applicants must be well-organised, have a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy and a genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them to be the best they can be. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in education and offers the possibility to work towards becoming a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
‘Pupils achieve highly at this stunning school’ – Ofsted, May 2023
Educating approximately 1250 students, The Bishop’s Stortford High School provides a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 and has a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 120 female students. As a result of excellent teaching, our students consistently achieve fantastic academic outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. “Behaviour is exemplary in lessons and around the school.” which means the school has a calm atmosphere and students are ready to learn. “Pupils are polite, well-mannered and kind.” and “are ambassadors for the school, demonstrating excellent behaviours in all that they do.” (Ofsted 2023)
The school relocated to a new site in Bishop’s Stortford in September 2024. We have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future. Our vast list of extra-curricular activities and trips means students engage positively with school and represent our values with pride. Staff turnover is low, as they feel well-supported and enjoy working here, with many choosing the school for their own children.
