TBSHS celebrates an excellent set of GCSE results

The Bishop’s Stortford High School students and staff celebrated an excellent set of GCSE results at Beaumont Avenue today.

Dale Reeve, Headteacher, commented: “As with our excellent A-Level results last week, many students have collected a hatful of top GCSE grades and are in very good spirits this morning. Lots are rightly feeling very proud of their excellent personal achievements, having worked so hard. Meeting the entry requirements to move up to our sixth form has been a key goal for lots of the boys, so there are many relieved faces this morning, though inevitably there are a few who are disappointed, having just missed out. It says a lot that so many of the cohort are really excited about the prospect of staying on for two more years. They will be joined by students from lots of other schools, all keen to make the most of the opportunities they will enjoy in the sixth form at TBSHS.

“My sincere congratulations to the boys and their parents on these impressive achievements and a huge thank you to our wonderful staff for all their hard work in inspiring the students to this success. A special mention to Dr Alex Coke-Woods, Head of Year, along with Mrs Sharon Harris, Inclusion Manager, and the excellent team of Year 11 tutors, for keeping the boys focused and on track over the years.”

A particular well done to the following students: Thomas Leung; Felix Kenyon-Muir; Ruan Kellard; Connor Gunthorpe; Nadim Shawky; Finley Turner; Bede Pinches; Harry Frans; Sam Jurd; Luca Livermore; Ted Betts and Dilan Patel, who all gained at least five grade 9s, with Thomas achieving an incredible eleven grade 9s.
