TBSHS Hosts 11th Biennial Careers Forum

TBSHS Hosts 11th Biennial Careers Forum
The 11th biennial Careers Fair took place here at TBSHS on 22nd October and as in the past, it was a tremendous night with a busy atmosphere and a real buzz in the air.
In a friendly and informal setting, students from Years 10-13 circulated the stands ‘dropping in’ on employers and educators. They were able to find out about apprenticeships, post-graduate, and career/job opportunities. With up to 70 stands, it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our new school and was the largest Fair to date. As well as firm favourites such as Raytheon UK, ARM Holdings, MBDA Systems, all of the Armed Forces, the Police, the NHS, Tees Law, Linklaters Law, Limes Orthodontics, Deloitte, Inflite, Titan Airways, McLarens & Connect Scaffolding, we welcomed many new high profile and prestigious employers such as GEA, Fyfe Wilson, Airbus and Willis Towers Watson.
Return visits from the BBC, Ford UK, GSK and the Civil Service gave the evening even more gravitas and we were delighted that lots of local companies were keen to come including Daniel Robinson & Sons, Price Bailey, Hanbury Wealth and Delta Group. All attending were several Colleges and Universities – and Project Trust – a specialist gap year company.
Careers Organiser Claire Jonas said ‘We’re incredibly grateful to all of our supporters – and it was especially good to see so many of our alumni representing their employer/company. In true black n’ gold spirit, they returned to TBSHS to support our current students which was really fantastic. We were thrilled to welcome so many of them back and hear about their successful career journey. We hope our students felt inspired by the event and our guests helped with their future Next Steps and planning.’
