Remembrance

We trust you had a good half-term, and are looking forward to making positive progress, in and out of class and school, this coming half-term.
A particularly powerful form of motivation, and perspective, at this time, and always, is to think about, and give thanks for, all who serve, and all who have served.
As the vivid and glowing oranges of autumn are transformed into the magical and mystical lights of winter, November is a time of very deep remembrance, profound respect, and humble gratitude.
We particularly keep in our hearts all who suffer and all who have suffered.
In the Christian Church, yesterday, the 2nd of November, was All Souls’ Day, which remembers those who have passed away from this life. This follows All Saints’ Day of the 1st of November.
This coming Sunday, the 9th of November, which will be Remembrance Sunday, and on Tuesday of next week, the 11th of November, Armistice Day, people will observe a two-minute silence to remember, reflect, respect, and give thanks.
Wearing a poppy is another symbolic example of such remembrance. “The Poppy Appeal” at T.B.S.H.S. continues today, with all monies going to “The Royal British Legion”.
