Thought For The Day – Wednesday 24th January 2024
World Education Day
Today is World Education Day.
We pay tribute to all involved in education at everywhere in our locality, in the U.K. and around the world.
We are appropriately proud, but humble, of the contributions of all staff, students, carers and parents past, present and future at TBSHS.
We equally pay the greatest respect to all other centres of education which, by definition, are essential and wonderful.
Thank you to all such places in our local area.
This is a good time for us to think about our educational journey, before TBSHS, in absolutely inspirational and formative Primary schools, for example, and for us to reflect on whether we appreciate, love and find joy in our education.
We thank all those have devoted their lives, or any part of their life, to selflessly helping others in, and through, education.
We remember education is a lifelong journey.
Education is empowerment, enlightenment, growth, inspiration and reflection, individually and in communities.
The international theme of this day in 2024 is “Learning for lasting peace”, for a quarter of humanity, 2 billion people, live in conflict-affected areas.
Globally, we remember that so many are denied, or have massive barriers and challenges to, education.
As with anything, as we reflect and make the most of our education, we equally endeavor to give this opportunity to all, treating others we wish to be treated ourselves.
