Thought For The Day – Wednesday 13th September 2023
Helping Those In Need
In Morocco, people, including led by many young people, are helping the massive research, rescue and support effort after the earthquake.
These have been, and are, the so-called “golden hours” to safely find and try to rescue any survivors.
Equally important, especially for their loved ones, is recovering the bodies those who have very tragically passed away.
This is all a very highly skilled operation.
Any survivors, and the families of the bereaved, will need support with essential life items, such as clothing, food, sanitation, shelter and water, and physical and psychological health and medical care.
Many businesses and jobs have been destroyed.
Cold and wet weather forecast for the coming days will add further challenges to people now homeless.
One of the challenges is reaching people in the remote towns and villages of the mountains.
In time, all those courageous, resilient and skilled people who have cared, and helped, will may also need massive support also.
The carers will also need cared for.
As global citizens, we continue to think of, and act for, those in need around the world.
