Thought For The Day – Wednesday 13th December 2023
Christmas Charity
The word “charity” means generosity or helpfulness to others.
Charity can be shown in given time or money, or both.
The Latin word for charity is a translation of Greek word “agape”.
Agape is the selfless love that puts others first and seeks nothing in return. It is the highest and deepest love of all.
Christmas is not easy for many people, whether they are going through physical, mental, emotional or financial challenges.
Some people may have lost someone close to them and feel their loss particularly at Christmas.
Christmas can be a lonely time and a time which, for some, can add to stress. The pressure to have a perfect Christmas, whatever that means, does not help.
In fact, care and love is the best Christmas present of all.
It is invaluable and priceless.
