Thought For The Day – Tuesday 6th June 2023
National Carers Week
Welcome back. We hope you, and your families, had a good half term. Thank you very much indeed for all your very positive contributions last term. They are much appreciated.
This week is National Carers Week.
The sign of a good society is whether we care for each other, particularly those in need, whether that be economic, mental, physical and social, and those who are vulnerable.
“The Golden Rule” is that we treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves.
The good team, any true team, helps, looks after and supports everyone. Empathy, compassion and respect is at the heart of this.
Those who are cared for are brilliant, celebrated, equally valued, fully respected and make a vital contribution.
We must never forget to: a) care for the carers b) encourage and support carers to also care for themselves.
It is very important that we do not take carers, and those who they care for, for granted.
We pay tribute to, and greatly thank, inspirational carers, and those whom they care for, of all ages and generations.
We also pay tribute to, and greatly thank, the many truly inspirational young carers, and all who they care for.
To care for others is the greatest thing that anyone can do.
