Thought For The Day: Tuesday 20th September 2022
Leadership and Service
“Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s calm and dignified presence has given us confidence to face the future, as she did, with courage and with hope.” (The Right Reverend David Conner, Dean of Windsor, The Committal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, 19th September, 2022)
“We can all share the Queen’s hope which in life and death inspired her servant leadership.” (The Most Reverend Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, The Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Westminster Abbey, 19th September 2022)
The State Funeral Of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II:
After an inspirational life of duty, devotion, love and selfless service, Queen Elizabeth II now lies at rest with her husband, with her parents and with her sister.
Our best tribute to the wonderful legacy of those of goodness who inspire and those we love, whether it be in our families, in our communities or in the world, is to continue their goodness, inspiration and love in our daily lives.
In moments of challenge, as you know and as you have frequently done, we help one another, show resilience and respect, taking each step and day at a time with hope in our hearts. “We will meet again”.
The leadership and service of others inspires us to lead and serve.
At TBSHS this week, we will need your leadership and service once again in class and in community, especially at Thursday’s TBSHS Prospective Parents’ Evening and Saturday’s House Rugby. It is your time, once again, to shine, to serve and to lead. “The Black And Gold Spirit”.
Keep writing your wonderful history, learning from the inspirational history of great and good people in your families, your communities and in the world.
