Thought For The Day – Tuesday 20th December 2022
Thank You
Today, the penultimate day of this term, is another great day at TBSHS.
At a time where many in this country, and around the world, will not share in a Christmas dinner, TBSHS is giving over 1,000 students, and staff, this opportunity.
We greatly thank Mr. Cooper and the catering team for all their absolutely brilliant work each and every day.
The end of term provides an opportunity to express gratitude to everyone who makes our school the community it is. Two simple words, “thank you”, genuinely and sincerely meant, can mean everything to someone.
It takes every person, students, parents and staff, in our community. Everyone is equally important and valued. Led by Mr. Reeve, and the senior leadership team, the administrative, admissions, careers, caretaking, catering, cleaning, college, computer, counselling, cover, examinations, extra-curricular, finance, fundraising, governor, grounds, inclusion, laboratory, learning support, library, network, office, pastoral, reception, registration, reprographics, secretarial, subject, teaching, technician, university and visits staff and teams create the marvellous and magnificent myriad of opportunities and support for students to show their outstanding character, inside and outside of the classroom, seven days a week.
Players take responsibility to prepare, do their best, express themselves, work together and play respectfully and well in the game.
Coaches and support staff provide the standards, support, structure, care and encouragement.
In the background of everything are always parents and their inspirational influence.
Tonight, at our annual Awards Evening, we will pay massive tribute to student success in a year when GCSE and A-Level records were broken and so much was achieved inside and outside of school in very challenging wider circumstances.
Always respecting the present and future, as well as the past, the resilience Year 11 have demonstrated in their mock examinations in the last few days is very promising for their big moment in the summer. We wish Year 13 very well too in their mock examinations. As ever, thank you to all the staff examinations team for all their brilliant care, patience, standards and organisation.
We pay great tribute to Mrs. Tina Cooper, who leaves TBSHS tomorrow, for her truly excellent, outstanding, wise, caring, judicious, thoughtful, resilient and meticulously organized work as Inclusion Manager. Mrs. Cooper has been an absolute rock of the vitally important and crucially foundational pastoral system, giving so much to so many. Mrs. Cooper totally epitomises the school values of commitment, aspiration, respect, integrity and community.
In our individual and collective journey at and beyond TBSHS, we always remember that true character and integrity comes from hard work, humility, trying our best, looking out for others, caring for ourselves, always trying to improve and never taking anyone, or anything, for granted. Keep caring.
Have a great day. Thank you for everything.
