Thought For The Day – Thursday June 8th 2023
Brilliant And Unique You
A big thank you to Mr. Harvey for organizing a brilliant and important presentation for you on Tuesday.
Our guest speaker, Asha, gave a very informative, insightful and important presentation about drugs, alcohol, vapes, spiking, the law, health, staying safe and making good and kind decisions at all times. Asha covered every issue.
We are very grateful to Asha.
A particularly important moment was where Asha said that you were all precious, valued, valuable, treasured and important.
In a world that can have its challenges and pressurizes, including a stress to be perfect, or to be like someone or something else, it is so important to remember this.
The most important thing about a person is that they are a person, an individual with a unique story and a history, who is part of a community. Everyone is equally important. You are you. That is brilliant. You are unique and special.
For sure, life can have its challenges. But it will not always be the case that “fortune’s always hiding”. Your moments will come. And every day is a moment to help others have their moment.
The presentation on Tuesday, and the on-line safety talk organized by Mrs. Butler earlier this academic year, have been your most important lessons. This presentation will be followed up in PSHE lessons.
With the presentation this week, we must never forget at the heart of the presentation was a wonderful family, Daniel and his parents. As Asha visits schools, inspired by Daniel and his family, lives are changed.
Look after yourself and others.
Share any challenges, concerns or worries. Support is always there.
Stay safe. Everywhere. Always.
