It is London Poppy Day today. Different cities in the United Kingdom have different poppy days.

In London today the target is to raise 1 million pounds.  Railway stations and busses will be decorated.

How much can we raise at TBSHS today?  Please bring your £1 for your poppy today.

The Poppy Appeal and The Royal Legion are also thinking about the environment as they aim for poppies will not contain plastic in a bid to be more eco-friendly.  The Royal British Legion said: “We have been working with suppliers and the relevant experts to produce a new poppy that has minimal impact on the environment. The RBL is committed to reducing the amount of single-use plastic.”

How to use a pin with your poppy:

• Carefully take your pin. Do not touch the sharp edge.
• On the left hand side of your uniform, to symbolize closeness to the heart, take your pin and go “in and out” twice. See below.
• Then place the poppy in the middle.
• Wear your poppy in remembrance and with respect.

Please do not leave it to the Remembrance Service to obtain your poppy.
