Thought For The Day – Monday 8th January 2024
New Hopes, New Dreams, Same Passion
Welcome back to TBSHS. It is Week 2.
Thank you for all your wonderful work across the school last term and last year.
We hope you, and your families, had a good, giving and sustainable holiday.
Christmas is not easy for many. Some people have very significant challenges, especially in various parts of the world.
It is the positive little things that make life special, whilst hope in difficult and vulnerable circumstances is the meaning of, and reason for, the season.
A new calendar year brings new hopes and new dreams but the same passion for us at TBSHS.
With every good wish for 2024. Start well. On the front foot. Behave, play, read, speak and write well. Be professional in your appearance, conduct and manners. Every single one of us can humbly improve and be better every day. Make every day and moment count.
Good luck to Year 13 students sitting practice or mock examinations. Do your very best. Remember what you have learnt and answer the question. On our Inset Day, our guest speaker, Alex Quigley gave much outstanding advice to staff including for staff to encourage students to use the last five minutes of every examination and assessment to check their work. His passionate belief was that is the most valuable time in the whole examination or assessment. Those extra points, and signposting your questions, can make all the difference. Never give up. As we always say, you do not want to be one mark away from the next grade, or level, on results day as your record is what you are at the end of the season. It may come down to goal difference. Play to the final whistle, and then thank both teams, the supporters and officials. Thank you to the staff exams team. We always remember the first team begins in the academy.

Let’s keep building in our lives in 2024.
