Thought For The Day – Monday 31st March 2025
Lent and Easter Services
In the next two days, we will, once again, visit Saint Michael’s Church in Bishop’s Stortford for our “Lent and Easter Services”.
Thank you to all who have organised, and will lead, the services.
Thank you to all the cover staff and team for their outstanding organisation equally.
In music, song, prayer, reading and reflection, please continue to show the respect, and engagement, you always show as we hear “The Christian Story”.
Whatever our appropriate beliefs, such moments provide an opportunity to reflect on the “past, present and future” of our lives, and those around us, as well as to think about the wider community and world.
In our busy world, that far too often can lose both life perspective, and moral priorities, we take a moment to deeply and thoughtfully contemplate. What do we wish to do? For whom? Why? And how? Are moral values being applied? Are we looking after, and caring for, others and ourselves? Do we treat others as we ourselves wish to be treated? Are we humble, conscious of our imperfections?
Of course, as with any faith, religion and spirituality, Christianity has something deep, and profound, to say about those questions.
There will be a collection at the close of the services for Saint Michael’s Church. If you can afford it, and wish to donate, please bring £1.
We are also collecting Easter eggs in school for “Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank” as we think about all in need.
We are very grateful to all at Saint Michael’s Church once again for all they do for our community.
We also pay equal respect and tribute to all other wonderful Christian, faith and community groups locally.
These include Saint James’ Church Thorley, whose parish our new school resides in, and “Herts and Essex Mosque”.
Today, and this week, at TBSHS, we will also remember our Muslim community as their holy month of Ramadan has come to an end with the festival of Eid al-Fitr.
An inclusive message from yesterday is above.
