Thought For The Day – Monday 26th February 2024
Hope and Peace
We hope you had a good half term. This week is “Week 2” on the school timetable.
Thank you to all who participated in, and supported, educational visits over the half term vacation, and so far this term generally, especially to staff organisers and supervisors who gave, and give, so generously of their time and expertise.
We hope everyone in our community, students, staff, carers, guardians, parents, and beyond, were able to experience some safe enjoyment, rest, positivity and reflection both in themselves and with others.
This is a very short half term of lessons until the Easter and Spring holiday. Year 9 examinations will take place this week, starting tomorrow, whilst Year 11 and Year 13 are now on the final climb and push towards their external examinations. Year 10 and Year 12 are continuing their progress, mindful that they will be in the final stages of their preparation next year, whilst the academy of Year 7 and Year 8 continue their great start (with Year 8 choosing their subject options).
Once again, the extra-curricular remains important for wellbeing, future employment, giving back to the wider community, teamwork and enrichment. Music is a wonderful example of this and something we all need in life. Good luck and thank you to all taking part in TBSHS’ Music Festival, which commences today. A special thank you to the Music Department.
We begin a new half term today with new hopes and dreams, but the same passion, standards and moral values.
We always keep in mind a global and wider perspective, supporting those in need, and those who suffer, locally, nationally and internationally.
Saturday marked two years since the invasion of, and war on, Ukraine. This has caused suffering beyond words.
We keep in our actions, hearts, thoughts and prayers all who suffer beyond words at home and around the world because of conflict and war, or because of other personal challenges.
We act with hope for a good half term, and we act for peace, both for ourselves and others.
