Thought For The Day – Monday 20th February 2023
Make Every Day Count
Welcome back to TBSHS. We hope you, and your families, had a good half term and are looking forward to what you, and we, will achieve in the next six weeks and more.
Thank you for all you did inside and outside of the classroom last half term, culminating in thinking of others in massive need in Syria and Turkey on the last day of half term.
We must always think about, and act for, all people suffering locally, nationally and internationally.
Thank you to all the staff who gave their time, care, expertise and energy to offer so many brilliant opportunities over half term. Thank you to those staff who lead and meticulously organised those wonderful opportunities.
Further opportunities will follow this half term and beyond. This begins this week with the Music Festival and House Football.
Every half term is important, of course. However, this half term is particularly significant as many students prepare for examinations, external and internal, and choose options. In the sporting world, they call this “the business end” of the season as, wherever teams are in the table or tournament, they aim to build momentum with positive and respectful performances and results.
Although every part of the season is vital, the final countdown begins now. There are 84 days, 2016 hours, until the GCSE examinations start as a whole and even less time until the GCSE Languages Oral Examinations. But we don’t count the days. We make the days count.
Like the various current England cricket teams, play with focus, fun, flair, fearlessness and fight, looking out for one another.
Focused but relaxed. Be the best version of yourself. Make every day count. Let’s go.
