Thought For The Day – Monday 12th January 2026
Digging Deep
As we commence the second week of term, which is “Week 1” on the timetable, we know this is a key part of the academic year.
We dig deep and keep going.
The answers so often lie in our heart and soul.
Support brings out the very best in others and ourselves.
The magic, and resilience, of winter will soon transition, and blossom, into the hope and promise of spring and the light and warmth of summer.
What we all do now is the foundation.
For the year. And for life.
A new calendar year is a new opportunity.
The photograph above was taken of the library in the rain and wind of Friday evening. A student is studying. The Sixth Form Centre also featured students revising on Friday. All inspirational.
As we run the bend of our race, and everyone has their own personal journey and story, before we reach “the home straight”, we can be inspired by Luke Dunham. Luke, a student of T.B.S.H.S. finished 26th in the “Men’s Under 20 World Cross Country Championships” in Florida at the weekend.
Luke is leading on the global stage.
Like Luke, in what we do, we stay humble, train hard, and keep our tempo in the race, getting into a good position as we kick for home.
We give our best and leave it all out there.
