Thought For The Day – Monday 10th July 2023
Values
“’The Black and Gold Spirit’ permeates the school community. These are the school values that the pupils live by daily.” (OFSTED Report on TBSHS, June 2023)
Today is another opportunity to show “The Black and Gold Spirit”, which was so brilliantly explained by Mr. Munro in assemblies last week.
We strive to show “The Black and Gold Spirit” in the school and in the wider community.
All those who organized, participated in and supported “The Mitre Run” at Jobbers Wood yesterday wonderfully showed “The Black and Gold Spirit”.
In today’s non-uniform day we are raising awareness of, and monies for, those in need locally and internationally. Specifically, your donations will go to “Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank”, ten years old this year, and “UK-Aid”. “UK-Aid” is a local charity supporting those suffering in Ukraine.
Please get today right in terms of your behaviour and conduct. Respect the non-uniform of others. Please be mindful that today is for those going through very challenging times. Our heart always goes out to all who are suffering.
This is another big week inside and outside of the classroom. The week will conclude with Sports Day on Friday and also features Year 6 Day.
Tonight sees the brilliant production of the truly original “A Voyage Through Time”. Good luck, and thank you, to all involved. Thank you to Mr. Hardie and Ms. Jarvie and to all Drama students and staff for all the brilliant work they do.
Drama and Theatre is such a very important and vital area in any society. Drama and Theatre provides edification, education, enjoyment, enlightenment, empathy, inspiration, morality, opportunities, relaxation, stories, teamwork, thoughtfulness and wellbeing.
Drama, like literacy and oracy, is life.
