Thought For The Day – Friday 5^th December 2025

Congratulations to: Year 8 students, Mrs. Chataigner, Mrs. Waldock,  all the Year 8 tutors, and all who donated and supported, to the cake sale for charity.

A massive, record amount was raised for “Cancer Research” and “Macmillan”, who scientifically research cancer, and provide care for those suffering from cancer, and their families.

Two brilliant, and vital, causes and charities.  One amazing event.   The best ever cake sale.

A winter wonderland.  For other people who are going through, or who have gone through, the most challenging of times.

This was yet another example of good student leadership, nurtured by staff guidance.

This happens inside lessons, and outside of lessons, in all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, like Debating,  Exchanges, the “Duke of Edinburgh’s Award”, Field Visits, the “Bar Mock Trial”, and in Sport, to name just a few.

With Sport, for instance,  so much time is invested by staff, students, carers and parents each weekend and through the week.  We do not take the practices, fixtures, tours, and opportunities for granted.  And the preparation, supervision, and expertise required by staff.

Student leadership very much continues when students leave T.B.S.H.S..

Congratulations to George Hoddle, pictured below,  who recently made his full professional league debut for Cambridge United, after impressing in substitute, and cup, appearances.

Both of these former students of the School were part of two different teams who won national competitions when they were at the School.

And there are numerous former students of T.B.S.H.S. inspiring in their lives and communities.

The values of the past and present are the foundation of the future.

And that starts with what we do today.

A winter wonderland creates, and is the foundation for, a  sensational spring and summer.
