Thought For The Day – Friday 28th April 2023
Care
Thank you for your beginning to the summer term. Finish the week well. Have a good and safe bank holiday weekend.
If you are in Years 10, 11 and 13, please use this time for active, balanced, focused and healthy revision. Time is always valuable. Revision, review and reflection is ongoing. In many ways, the examinations have already started. Students are ultimately rewarded for appropriate and wise effort invested. Respect, integrity, commitment and aspiration in and out of the examination room are everything. Community care supports us in the preparation for important events and at all times. Year 7, 8 and 12 will begin their focused revision in May. We are grateful for the opportunity.
Doing your best in life, for yourself and others, is what matters. And being a good person.
We continue to think about, and act for, those in need.
More food parcels than ever before were handed out in the past year, the UK’s largest food bank provider, The Trussell Trust, reported this week. The Trussell Trust said almost 3 million food parcels had been distributed. This was 37% more than the previous year. 1.1 million of these food parcels will be provided for children. In December, The Trussell Trust gave out a food parcel every eight seconds, on average. Three-quarters of a million people who received help had never before used one of its food banks.
Thank you to all who donated over 260 Easter eggs to Bishop’s Stortford Food Bank at the close of last term.
