Thought For The Day – Friday 27th March 2026
Thank You
Thank you for another wonderful term to; Mr. Reeve, the governors, and all staff in every area and domain of The Bishop’s Stortford High School; all students in all year groups; and all carers, parents, and guardians.
This “Black and Gold Spirit” is comprehensively, memorably, and respectfully, celebrated in the latest edition of “The Mitre” and in “Final Assembly” today.
We very much appreciate the inspirations, opportunities, and support all around us.
We humbly reflect on how we can contribute to this story, and how we can continue to learn, and improve, to be better.
We wish you a happy, and safe, holiday.
Good luck to students in Years 11 and 13, and students in Year 10, who will be revising this holiday. A healthy balance of active revision, as well as reflection, rest, and relaxation, will be very important, following the experience and guidance of pastoral and subject staff. As with anything, we do, and give, our very best. Summer holidays and Results Days are the reward.
Years 7, 8, 9, and 12 should also make time to review and revise their academic and extra-curricular work, prepare for next term and, as ever, keep reading.
On his final day at T.B.S.H.S. today, thank you to Mr. Redman for his work in the Computer Science department. From earlier this term, we also thank Miss. Deko for her work in the Mathematics department.
Respect, values, equality, and inclusion occur beyond the school gates. In many ways, it is always the greatest inspiration, and pleasure, to see students, both current and former, showing care and respect out of school in Bishop’s Stortford and in the wider community, including to: staff; members of the public generally; students from this, and other, schools; and the ecological environment. “The Black and Gold Spirit” transcends place, space, and time.
Keep doing good in the world, treating others as you wish to be treated, being upstanding citizens, thinking about those in need, and reaching out if, and to, suffering. In person and on-line.
We respectfully represent the “Black and Gold ”, and even deeper, our culture, family, heritage, inspirations, and sacred and unique personal story, in all we do.
