Thought For The Day: Friday 16th September 2022
TBSHS Remembers
Today, in a unique ceremony, in the open air at the school pavilion, The Bishop’s Stortford High School will hold an Act of Remembrance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
We greatly remember Queen Elizabeth II’s inspirational and historic duty, devotion and selfless service.
Please ensure you are fully prepared for this occasion. Respect, responsibility, service and resilience is “The Black and Gold Spirit”.
Reflecting deeply on Queen Elizabeth II’s wonderful and unique example, we also remember those who have inspired and guided us, and those who continue to inspire and guide us. We think about what we do, and what we can do more of, supporting one another, to be a good and giving person.
The arrangements, meticulously organized by Mr. Reeve, with the particular assistance of the Senior, Music, Pastoral, Support and Technical teams are as follows:
At 2.40 this afternoon, students in Years 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 will return promptly to their form room where they will leave their bags and coats. Year 7 will remain at the pavilion.
At 2.45, Year 12 and Year 13, the sixth form, will depart their form rooms and will be escorted to the pavilion.
At 2.49, Year 10 and Year 11 students will depart their form rooms and will be escorted to the pavilion.
At 2.53, Year 8 and Year 9 students will depart their form rooms and will be escorted to the pavilion.
At 2.55, Year 7 students, who will be already at the pavilion, will move to their allocated position.
Once at the pavilion, students should assemble in complete and respectful silence.
At 3.00, or earlier, the Headteacher, Mr. Reeve, will begin the Act of Remembrance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
At approximately 3.15, students will return to their form rooms, after dismissal by Senior Staff and Heads of Year. Year 7 will remain at the pavilion.
At 3.30 the school day will end.
Thank you for all you have done so far this week.
As always, we finish this school week by showing the very best of the school, and ourselves, in tribute to good people who inspire, perfectly exemplified by the duty, devotion and selfless service of Queen Elizabeth II.
