Denis Fordyce

As a Rotarian, Denis Fordyce gave so much to the local community. Denis Fordyce epitomised and symbolised the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”. We continue to be very grateful for all Bishop’s Stortford Rotary Club do.

A wonderful example of Denis’ work was in tandem with Rotarian Richard Hartley, leading the Rotary Christmas Collections Project each and every Christmas. Christmas parcels were created, or, as in the last two years, vouchers given, for those in need at Christmas. Monies for these parcels and vouchers, which often brought tears of joy to recipients, were raised by tireless fundraising by Rotarians across the town, including opportunities for student bag packing from local Interact clubs.

Appropriately, Denis’ final collaboration with TBSHS was at the bag packing in June.

Denis also played an instrumental role in the management of the school’s fine Sports Hall facility in previous years.

Denis was an inspirational, thoughtful, wise, kind and good-humoured person. Denis’ outstanding example and legacy will always inspire so many and will always be with us.
