After completing his studies at Cambridge, Robin has accepted a place at Princeton to take a History PhD, starting in the ‘Fall’ of 2021. Robin had a choice between Princeton and Stanford following the degree exchange year he did in Chicago after his Cambridge Masters.
Ollie took part in Uk’s strongest man under 23’s on the 1st March 2020 and won. This gives him a wild card entry into UK’s strongest man which is televised and shown at Christmas. We are told he will be the youngest athlete to have performed at this event.
It also enters him into worlds strongest man under 23’s, venue to be released.
This is a phenomenal win and a step closer to his dream of becoming worlds strongest man.
Dan Bastick achieved his BSc Hons in Geography & Natural Hazards at Coventry University (Graduated Nov 2017). He then went onto get a Masters degree in Environmental management and Sustainability (Graduated 2019).

The school were saddened to hear of the death of Archie Day in October 2018, aged 20 years. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
The School were pleased to welcome back two former students; Andrew Lewin and Hugo Mann to a Politics Special during the 6th Form Citizenship session on the 16th October.
A lively and sprited discussion ensued which was enjoyed by all our current 6th Formers.
The School were very saddened to hear of the sudden death of David Wickens (TBSHS 1992-2000) on the 8th June 2018 in Dubai.
David was a former Head Boy (1998), and went up to Selwyn College, Cambridge, to read History, before working as an International Manager with HSBC. His work took him to postings around the world including Moscow, Hong Kong, Delhi, New York and finally Dubai.
He was the son of long-serving former TBSHS Teacher Ian Wickens, and leaves a wife and two children.
Former Head of History, Peter Oxley said “In an outstanding year his star shone the brightest. He had an incisive intellect but it was always coupled with a down-to-earth approach to school and life and a dry sense of humour which made him so popular with everyone- something to do with his Yorkshire roots? He never missed out on an opportunity to try out new experiences. I remember pacing the corridors of our hotel in St Petersburg after midnight only to find him in boots and coat about to rendezvous with 2 other sixth formers on their way to visit a basement bar next to the hotel to taste the local vodka! The last time perhaps we met he treated me to tea in the Cambridge University Library as he regaled me with tales of his fellow undergraduates and his lecturers. He was wonderful company.”
