Tenth Biennial Careers Forum
Sixty Educators and Employers visit TBSHS
The Bishop’s Stortford High School hosted their tenth biennial Careers Forum last month when over sixty educators and employers visited the school and chatted with students from Years 10-13 regarding A Level options and pathways as well as apprenticeship criteria and university entry requirements. Students were able to ‘drop in’ on exhibitor stands and chat informally about possible work experience as well as career opportunities.
Careers Lead and organiser Claire Jonas said ‘It was fantastic to see some new and prestigious employers here such as Linklaters Law, Taylor Wimpey, Raytheon UK and MBDA. Along with favourites like the Armed Forces and the Police, we had other high profile national recruiters for example Deloitte UK, GSK, Ford, the Civil Service, the NHS, BBC and McLarens Broking. With local companies such as ITVet, Tees Law, Price Bailey, Titan Airways and Connect Scaffolding, the students had a really wide range of stands to visit – there really was something for everyone. The feedback from employers, parents and students has been terrific. We look forward to the next one – in the new school!’
